Hair Styles Perfect for the Fall Time

Pixie Cut

One of the easiest fall hair styles to sport is the pixie cut. Stars like Charlize Theron, Emma Watson and Miley Cyrus all rock this hair style. Although it also works for hot summer months, the pixie cut elongates your neck and helps show off the high collars on your favorite fall jackets, mock turtleneck sweaters and pop collars of your funkiest fall shirts. The pixie cut also helps you show off dazzling fall earrings, and draws attention to your face. Style your pixie cut softly around your face, or add some gel and spike it up for a punk look to highlight your denim or leather attire.

Soft Layers

For a romantic look this fall, get a soft layered cut and lightly curl your hair for a gentle, touchable look. Curl your hair in one-inch sections toward your face for a soft, turned-in look, and spray with a light hairspray to keep your curls in place. When your hair is naturally curly, wash it as normal and let it air dry while twisted up in a bun. Untie the bun and let your soft curls roll over your shoulders. Pair soft layers with a cashmere sweater and jeans for a fall hayride, or tuck it back with barrettes to pair it with a simple dress for fall semi-formal events.

Fringe Bangs

Long fringe bangs continue to be in style during the fall months. Keep them even and long, down to your eyebrows, for an intellectual look, or add in some layers for depth and style. Highlight bangs for an extra flair, then style them to hide scarring, a large forehead or any other features you do not wish to show. Blow dry and flat iron your long bangs to keep them even, or air dry when you do not have a cowlick to worry over. Bangs work on most face shapes and any hair texture.

Be the Best Wardrobe Stylist

One of the most important aspects of this line of work is understanding the different body types, whether you work mostly with men or women. Everyone is built differently and different clothes will suit different body types. The aim is to make anyone feel good about themselves.

From pear shaped to heart shaped and any body type in between, you need to know and understand how to differentiate between the different shapes and then work out what clothing will suit which shape.

As a wardrobe stylist, it’s important to remember that your clients are coming to you for advice, they want to feel better about themselves and they want to look great. It’s your job to ensure this happens.

How do you do this? You get to know the different styles and trends in fashion. Your job is never done as you stay up to date with the latest trends, see what celebrities are wearing this season and get to know what you can expect to find in the clothing stores.

From dresses to jeans and suits to leisure wear, you need to have a complete understanding of the different choices available to ensure you can help your client transform their cupboard and have items that they feel great wearing.

Your next order of business is to get to know the different materials. Some clients may find they are uncomfortable in wool, others may not like silk. The list is endless, so it’s essential as a wardrobe stylist, you not only understand fashion, but you have an insight into the different materials.

Different materials hang in different ways and when you’re trying to take the eyes off a belly, for example, you don’t want a material that will snuggle the belly too much. This is an essential part of your training to ensure you can always have a customer that is thrilled with the final result.

As a wardrobe stylist, your learning is never really over. You should be attending fashion shows and events throughout the year. Getting to see the latest trends first hand and immediately putting those trends into groups for different body shapes.

Attending these events also gives you an opportunity to network, get to know the designers, speak to them about their designs and get a good understanding of what each season will introduce into the average wardrobe. Remember it’s your job to fill a cupboard with items that will complement your client’s body shape and style.

This is why you need to get a good understanding of your client. Take the time to speak to your client. As their wardrobe stylist, you need to know their daily lifestyle, what they do for fun and their personality. This will help you put a wardrobe together that suits them perfectly.

The active type that enjoys going out at night with friends will not benefit from a cupboard filled with dress suits, while a professional who is quiet and spends time entertaining at home will not benefit from certain styles. It’s up to you to get to know what styles goes with what type of client and why.

Finally, as a wardrobe stylist, you have to choose a niche. What this means is you need to decide what type of people you want to work with and stick to it. This way you can concentrate on getting to know the fashion and trends based on that niche, whether it’s women of all ages, celebrities or men.

Evolution of Wrist Watches

The necessity for men’s wrist watch came when soldiers had to use their watches even when both the hands were occupied. This was supposed to replace the pocket watches, but the initial design was bulky and carried a crown just like pocket watches. However, by 1930, the design was re-engineered to suit the average wrist size.

A major breakthrough in the world of wrist watches was achieved with the development of quartz technology. It replaced the existing mechanical watches by providing greater efficiency and accuracy. Powered by the quartz technology, the first digital watch was unveiled in 1970, which sported a LED display as well.

In the last few decades, the market for fashionable wrist watches has been shared equally by both analog and digital watches. While analog watches provide the opportunity to include better designs, and utility components like chronograph, digital watches are preferred by sportspersons and other people who perform time-dependent tasks.

Watches for men and women have also taken different routes over the years. Women watches generally have a small dial area and a slim band, mostly made of leather, plastic or metal. These are meant to be worn alternatively as jewelry items, which is why some of them are even embossed with precious stones.

On the other hand, watches for men have a larger dial and thicker bands. Depending on individual sense of style, some people prefer wearing heavy metal bands, while others stick to the classic leather bands. Since the dial area is larger on men’s watches, it is easier to place components like chronographs and calendar.

Digital watches, on the other hand have a different structure altogether. The emphasis is more on the functionality rather than the aesthetics. They sport a LED screen that displays the time in the digital format. Certain utilities like stopwatch and timers are available on these watches in order to assists sportspersons and timekeepers.

Types of Mens Bracelets

This included such jewellery as designer bracelets, rings and earrings. Any male that had a particular interest in such things as designer bracelets might be labelled as “effeminate” or “metrosexual”.

However, the trend for jewellery wearing amongst men has expanded greatly over the last decade. In fact, it’s safe to say that it has now big businesses. Male rappers flaunt their wealth and status with huge pendant chains and diamond earrings. Watches have become bigger and more elaborate. And rings can be worn on more than just the pinkie finger.

When it comes to mens bracelets, the latest trend is that of leather bracelets. These come in several forms and are sometimes referred to as mens friendship bracelets. Friendship bracelets traditionally consists of interwoven silk cords that are knotted to form elaborate designs. However, in this case, the friendship bracelets are far simpler. They are often made from plaited leather and feature silver embellishments, such as magnetic locking clasps.

Danish designers such as Aagaard Jewellery and Blog have marketed these designs as charm bracelets for men. Unlike their female counterparts, which feature delicate and feminine charms, these bracelets allow the wearer to customise them with rugged looking beads in polished silver, glass and wood. The bracelets themselves are often chunkier and with an emphasis on durability.

The charms are designed to appeal to the type of man who likes to customise his look. So colourful beads in polished glass can be used on soft brown leather bracelets to create a carefree surfer style. In addition, many of these designer bracelets are made from materials such as stainless and even parachute cord. These materials emphasise the masculinity of the product, thus aiming squarely at mass-marketing to men from all walks of life. For instance, a stainless steel bracelet accompanied by matted silver charms or dangling gold skulls will certainly give a different impression to that of the simple black leather wraparound bracelet, worn with no additional adornment.

Types of Heels

Since history there have always been a woman’s obsession to look taller and heels are the best way to do so. High heeled shoes have always been popular among the girls because they are elegant and fashionable and at the same time complement a woman’s beauty. But when you have planned to buy high heeled shoes, you should buy something that makes you feel comfortable and is easy to balance. As you are investing in them, make sure that your investment should not go in vain. Have something that makes you happy and most importantly, comfortable. Below given is the list of some high heeled shoes that women can opt for.

  • Wedge Heels: If you are looking for something comfortable and easy to walk in, step into wedge heels. A wedge heel runs under the foot, starting from the back of the foot till the middle. Triangular in shape, all wedges are not high heels. This heel shoe is basically thick and is the one with sole. The best part of this shoe is that they it offers more support and reduces all types of foot and ankle problems that are caused because of wearing other types of heels. There are many people who confuse wedges and platforms. Both are different having different features. Some shoes with wedge heels have platform soles and such shoes are termed as platform wedges.
  • Stilettos: Stilettos are highly popular among girls since a long time. They are the most typical type of heels that women love to wear. Stilettos are the highest of all heels having a height of eight inches. Some girls feel really difficult to walk wearing stilettos but they are highly fashionable and compliment the look quite well. These heels are thin and they offer a lesser surface for stability. Do you know what the word stilettos mean? It basically means small metal dagger. Whenever you buy stilettos, make sure that you have good quality stilettos that have leather uppers with padded insoles.
  • High Heeled Boot: As a woman, you should surely have a pair of high-heeled boot in your closet. Though they might make you feel a bit unstable, but high-heeled boots are sexy in their look. These boots look great with western outfits and are best for night out or any casual meeting with friends and family. The good part about these boots is that they are comfortable and are superbly stylish. A stylish high-heeled boot is far more fashionable than that of a cast and crutches. But be careful when wearing high-heeled boots as they are a bit slippery.
  • Kitten Heels: Kitten heels are not new as they were introduced in the late 50s. In the US, kitten heels are referred to as trainer heels. Kitten heels are short, comfortable and stylish and are easy to carry off. The heel is small and goes well with any outfit you wear. The best part is that this particular type of heel is not age bias as they are equally worn by elderly people because they don’t have a high heel. Kitten heels are also recognized as young girl stilettos and the good thing is that they never ever run out of fashion.
  • Evening sandals: As the name suggests, evening sandals are best for evening affairs like parties or formal get together. Evening sandals are stylish and they work up great with jeans as well as with casual dress. These shoes are not high like the stilettos as they have moderate to medium heels.
  • Nude Pumps: Do you have a stylish pair of nude pumps in your closet? If not, then you should surely have it. Completely versatile, nude pumps are the perfect neutral shoe to wear in any occasion you want to. Nude pumps go well with jeans and pencil skirts and not with any traditional outfit. They are the little black dress kind of footwear. These shoes are extremely lightweight and are quite comfortable. You will surely not face any problem while wearing these stylish pair of nude shoes.

Wear Gothic Fashion

Wear black in moderate amounts. Too much can make you look like a corpse. Pair black with other dark and rich hues such as deep burgundy, charcoal, and plum to achieve the mysterious look. Popular color combinations for Goths are black-red and black-plum.

Stay away from gold jewelry and accessories. Silver is the metal of choice for this trend. Charm bracelets, long pendant chains, spikes, crosses and chandelier earrings will look amazing. If you must wear gold, make sure is it antiqued and old looking.

Wear elegant fabrics like velvet, brocade and lace. Velvet can look too heavy when worn alone or all over so make sure to mix up your textures. A velvet skirt with a slim cotton blouse and lace hose brings depth and interest to an outfit. Wear burgundy leggings underneath a lace skirt and an off the shoulder cardigan for a sexy yet modest look. For something really steamy, pair a black brocade corset with dark distressed jeans and a spiky bracelet or choker. Lace can age you if you wear too much of it. Stick to one piece or accent to make sure you are not overdone.

Tall boots are a necessary fashion accessory for Goths. Heels are optional, but the boot should cover above the knee. There are many styles of boots available from slouchy suede ones that you slip into, or tall patent leather boots with miles of laces. Boots with heavy metal buckles or zippers are also very popular. Be careful that the pair you choose does not overwhelm your body. If you are petite, stay away from heavy soles because that just makes your feet look too large for your body. If you are curvier, over the knee boots may make your legs look shorter.

Gothic styles are unique and elegant, but very easy to get wrong. You do not have to be Goth to dress this way, but remember that just wearing all black does not mean you are Goth. It has a long history that continues to write itself. Pick a few elements and incorporate it into your style for a modern twist to this elegant and mysterious look.

Clean Your Clutches And Handbags

Plastic, vinyl or pleather purses: Wipe clean with a disinfecting wipe.

Leather bags: These are a little more complicated. It is recommended that you use a specialized leather cleaner and a soft cloth. Follow the instructions on the bottle. As with all cleaners and stain removers, make sure you test on an inconspicuous spot to make sure it will not discolor, stain or spot your bag.

Cotton bags: Luckily, most bags of this type can be laundered in a washing machine. Because hot water can fade the colors and dyes, place your purse in the freezer overnight to first kill germs, then launder in cold water in a gentle cycle. Depending on the build of your purse, it may be best to hang dry instead of placing it in the dryer.

To clean the inside of your purse is a little more complicated. First, empty the contents of your bag and shake out any dirt, dust, crumbs or debris that may have collected. Remember to open and shake out any interior pockets. You can use a small vacuum to get rid of any stubborn bits of dust and dirt.

Continue keeping the interior of your purse clean by keeping your makeup in a separate makeup bag, placing candy or snacks inside a plastic bag, and making sure that lotions or sanitizing gels are properly closed before placing them inside.

Navy Blue Leather Jacket

Designing a jacket in blue was a very novel thing once. But now, we have so many jackets in so many shades. The navy blue leather jacket is a particular favorite of mine. This is a beautiful shade of blue; neither too bright, nor too dull. It is just perfect. Both genders can wear it- even those men that think wearing pink is a thing for girls and women. This shade is gender wise neutral. Moreover, since it is not an outlandish color, its naturally soothing shade is perfect for a garment like jacket. This is because jackets are an outer-wear and thus a blue leather jacket will beautifully combine all the colors of one’s outfit and not be unflattering to any particular color. It will blend the outfit well. The navy blue leather jacket is consequently, rather popular.

But like with all colors, there are certain rules to be followed. Black is a tricky color to be worn with this shade of blue because both are colors and can end up giving a dull look. Accessorizing carefully, for instance, a navy blue dress with a black shawl, will help ensure the entire ensemble does not end up being dull. One of the most famous colors that will go with a blue leather jacket is white. A white dress combined with this jacket will be absolutely beautiful. The navy blue leather jacket meanwhile, reminds us of school times when our winter wear was in this color- well, either this or grey. But exploiting that look, people have recreated that school look but this time, for adults. The color combination had always worked. But now, taking what had once been an abhorred outfit, stylists converted that school uniform into a stylish and chic look for adults. As for the combination of white and blue, well sailors had already proven that color combination as beautiful to the world. In fact, dresses in the sailor style were made because that outfit was so aesthetically pleasing.

Slim Fit Suit Styling

  • Slim fit suits feature a narrow waist, slim and tapered legs with a lower rise and a flat front, as well as a narrow shoulder measurement. Look for suit jackets with neat, tidy shoulders, with seams that are aligned with the widest point of your shoulders. When the jacket is done up, it shouldn’t be too tight or too loose and you should easily be able to slip a hand between the jacket and your chest.
  • As for the trousers, they should sit comfortably on your hips and hang loosely – they shouldn’t look like skinny jeans. That would be a real fashion faux pas!
  • If you are wearing a shirt with your suit, at least 1-2cm of shirt should be visible underneath your suit jacket and when your arms are hanging down by your sides, the sleeves should sit close to your wrist. Make sure that the jacket does not swamp you, as you will risk looking like you’ve borrowed your dad’s suit!
  • Visit a high quality tailor for a bespoke suit. You will get a better fit, a better cut and a suit that will last you a lifetime. Choose a suit in a classic charcoal grey or black and you’ll be able to wear it again and again.
  • Wear the right base pieces with your suit. Slim fit suits should never look bulky, so be sure to choose a slim fit shirt that does not bunch underneath your arms or around your shoulders. Wide ties can also look a little bit strange with a suit that’s so slim and tailored, so be sure to choose a skinny tie.
  • For a modern look, steer away from plain white shirts – choose bright coloured shirts or patterned shirts instead. Checked shirts look particularly cool with a slim fit suit.
  • For a truly dapper take on this trend, add a slim fit waistcoat or a cool and quirky top hat – if you dare.
